When will geeks’ obsession with smartphone-controlled robots end? Well, if they’re half as cool as Robochan, we hope it never does! Meet Robochan, a Kondo KHR-2HV humanoid robot controlled by an iPhone 3GS that also serves as the ‘bot’s head and face. Robochan comes to life with the iPhone 3GS connected through the dock connector. The iPhone 3GS can be used to control Robochan and displays different facial expressions – good for predicting when your wayward humanoid robot is planning to lash out at its human overlords.
According to the Mark Milian, the iPhone will only be allowing access to the necessary APIs to build these types of apps in iPhone OS3.1 which they anticipate for September…right about the time some new iPods should hit the scene.
Apple has a new window display in their flagship Palo Alto store that is probably the coolest one we’ve ever seen. It features an iPhone on a stand in front of a large display, with iPhone apps zipping toward you as though you were traversing the App Store in the Millennium Falcon.
I was approached by AppGiveaway and was told I could participate in thier contests and to see if I would be willing to write a review. I am always skeptical about sites like these, but I have to admit this site is very well oriented and well maintained.

Overall this is a great site and a wonderful way for developers to get their applications out to the public. I was also told that they are releasing an iPhone app which should make it easier for you to enter the daily contests.
Make sure you visit them and let me know if you win any contests.
CirclePix has released an iPhone app called Video Uploader to address this need. The application allows you to upload video clips to Facebook, blogspot, as well as YouTube. The interface of the app is pretty simple and intuitive. It doesn’t load with any fancy features but only focus on video upload.
Video Uploader
The first time you use Video Uploader, you’ll need to setup your account by filling in your account. Say, for Facebook, simply type in your Facebook username and password. The rest of the registration is plain simple .
Video Uploader is now available at App Store for $0.99 only. If you got iPhone 3GS and are a regular user of Facebook / blogspot, for just a buck, you can add video upload capability for Facebook and Blogspot.
Those who were old enough during the 80s and mid 90s, the SEGA name rings a bell. For the rest of the readers, iPhone 3GS is the way to go for this classic game, Streets of Rage. It’s a port from the age of the classic 8bit and 16bit gaming consoles to the brave new world of the iPhone 3GS.
This unnamed iPhone 3GS augmented reality application, developed by hacker Chris Hughes, uses the iPhone’s camera to locate you family and friends. It also shows how far away a person is, shows their picture and allows you to make a call with only two clicks.
Unfortunately, because the app taps into the private CameraController.framework, Apple won’t accept this into the App Store. If you want to try it out, send @chews a message on Twitter and he’ll get it to you pronto.
If you run iMovie ‘09, it’s time for you to fire up Software Update to grab the latest iMovie 8.0.4 update. According to Apple, this update aims to fix a screen orientation bug as it pertains to iPhone 3GS video, as well as squashing a couple of other bugs. As we said, the update is available now, yours for the taking.
