On Monday, Barnes & Noble launched an eBookstore with over 700,000 titles, claiming to be the largest eBookstore in the world. They’ve also launched the Barnes & Noble eReader for popular smartphones including the iPhone and iPod Touch and will be the exclusive eBookstore for the Plastic Logic eReader due out early next year.
The Barnes & Noble eBookstore will also give people access to public domain books offered through Google Books, which can be downloaded for free. Barnes & Noble expects to have over one million titles available within a year.
