One of the big changes discovered in the latest iPhone 3.1 Beta released tonight was that it seems to disable tethering hacks for AT&T customers in the U.S.

Shortly after the release of the 3.0 firmware, however, several hacks began circulating allowing U.S. AT&T customers to unofficially enable tethering on their iPhones. The latest beta firmware, however, seems to disable this functionality.

I love how controlling Apple is…..not. But we always come up with a way to cheat them anyways, so it doesn’t really matter. I don’t really see what the big deal is on upgrading anyways. I had a 2G iPod touch on 2.2.1 until yesterday and everything(including the JB) worked fine. 3.0 is like a firmware that solves almost all the problems of the iPhone…..excpet AT&T still sucks…

Its kind of pathetic that it took Apple 3 different firmwares and 3 generations of iPhones, just to get Copy/paste and MMS. The $30 samsung I bought a freind has more features(minus the app store) than my iPhone had.
